Build Your Skills. Meet the Industry. Join Ortus at FIU! ⚡️

Meet the part of the Ortus Team on November 5 as we continue our collaboration with FIU through student engagement, open-source education, and practical technology conversations.

We’re returning to Florida International University for its 6th Annual Tech Talent Summit on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus in Miami.

Hosted by FIU’s Tech Talent Academy, the summit brings students, employers, faculty, and alumni together through interactive workshops, real-world challenges, networking, and conversations about technology careers.

Meet the Ortus Team

Bill and Gabriela will represent Ortus Solutions at our employer table, where students can learn about the company, ask questions, and explore the technologies behind our open-source ecosystem.

Our team will introduce BoxLang and BoxLang AI, share learning resources, and discuss how students can begin exploring application development, AI, and open-source contribution.

Throughout the event, they will also participate in FIU-organized challenges and company conversations, working alongside students and discussing approaches to real-world problems.

Continuing Our Collaboration with FIU

The summit builds on our ongoing relationship with FIU, which has included technical workshops, a hackathon, and a student open-source project involving the BoxLang ecosystem.

These experiences connect students with professional development practices: researching issues, proposing solutions, testing changes, and receiving feedback from maintainers.

Our participation in the summit continues that work by creating another opportunity for students to meet the team, discover tools, and connect their learning with the software industry.

Explore What You Can Build

BoxLang is an AI-first, open-source productivity platform and modern dynamic language from Ortus Solutions. With Java interoperability, modular extensibility, and multiple runtimes, it helps developers build applications, APIs, agents, and automated workflows.

BoxLang AI adds native capabilities for working with AI models, agents, tools, memory, and application knowledge. Together, they give students and professional developers practical starting points for exploring modern application development.

Coming Soon: Version 4 Docker CommandBox Images with Enhanced Performance

Coming Soon: Version 4 Docker CommandBox Images with Enhanced Performance

CommandBox Docker images were the first CFML docker images and have nearly 2 million pulls, since their inception, to date. It's been a source of pride at Ortus that these images have been the most popular and reliable way to run CFML in containers and we are so very pleased to announce the next evolution, which will be the v4 images which run entirely on the BoxLang CLI and represent a significant overhaul of the image architecture.

These images are now available to test by appending -snapshot to your existing version tags and wil be released as stable, once CommandBox v6 emerges from release candidate status and is published as stable.

Free observability with BxMCP: give your AI agents eyes inside a live BoxLang runtime

Ortus Solutions today announces that bx-mcp, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for BoxLang, is now free for everyone. Install it, point any MCP capable client at it, and your AI coding assistant, IDE agent or automation pipeline can inspect and operate a live BoxLang runtime: JVM, caches, datasources, slow requests, schedulers, logs and more. No BoxLang+ subscription required.
