We have just released our new training course 3 days before Adobe Max 2010 in Los Angeles, California (October 22,23,24).  This is a brand new course for CBOX-101 as it includes everything for ColdBox 3.0.0 + a 1 day workshop where we will do boot camp coding!  You have the option of either attending the 2 day training or the 3 day training, whatever you fancy!  We also have a special discount for Adobe Max attendees, so if you are already going to Max, drop us a line at training@coldbox.org or at twitter/coldbox and we will give you the special discount code for Adobe Max attendees.  We did just this 3 day training a few months ago in London and it was fantastic.

I was actually a 'Spaghetti-Code-Programmer' before i got into this MVC stuff. Then I found ColdBox. Only one comment - f a n t a s t i c ! After doing some self-studying, I got to the training in London. I had 3 great days improving my CB-knowledge - directly told by the CB-Master himself. There was enough time to bring in my own questions and doing real world examples. The training material - 2 big books(!) is also a great reference.

The Coldbox training raised my game in developing Coldfusion applications. It gave me a great understanding of the framework itself and vastly improved my original conceptions on OOP programming. Coldbox is a fantastic framework and I highly recommend it and the training.

This course will offer 2 days of intense training in the core platform and the last day will be a hands on boot camp.  We will code, have Q&A and it is also an open forum for questions, show and tell for your applications, and more.  Below is the location information which is 5 minutes from LA Live and the LA Convention Center where Adobe Max will be held.

O Hotel Group We will be holding this event in the O Hotel in downtown Los Angeles from October 22 to the 24.  You can book the 2 day training or the full 3 day training if you like.  The O Hotel is the first independent boutique hotel in Downtown LA. The historic 1920's building was completely refurbished down to the smallest detail for the launch in September 2007.  O Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown's revitalized urban scene, a few blocks from L.A. Live, Staples Center, the Nokia Theater, the Convention Center and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Hotfix Hell: Why Legacy ColdFusion Systems Become Operationally Fragile

Many legacy CFML systems do not fail suddenly.

Instead, they slowly become fragile.

At first, the application works. Then small operational issues start appearing: unexpected slowdowns, random restarts, patches applied late at night, fixes that introduce new bugs.

Eventually teams find themselves trapped in what many engineers call “hotfix hell.”

This pattern is common in environments still running:
