After two days of non-stop sessions, it is safe to say that Into the Box 2020 proved to be a one-of-a-kind virtual experience. It is important to note that it wouldn’t have been possible without the trust and support of our speakers, sponsors and 100+ attendees. We were all witnesses to the power of the CFML community and we couldn’t be more thankful for allowing us to engage with you all.

As you may have noticed, we have many things cooking at Ortus. We wanted to highlight what is coming soon and what we have been working on so that you can keep track and be in the lookout for the releases.

First up, we have CFCasts (alpha version is live!), a video portal where you’ll be able to access training and learning content on relevant topics around modern web development, this includes our free monthly webinars as well as our Into the Box recordings.

Next, since so many of you asked for them, we are excited to announce that we’ll be offering our BOX Workshops in virtual format.

ColdBox 6 is also making its debut. It has 5 major features: cbFutures, task executors, RestHandler, SingletonRenderer, and a new developer debugging experience - Whoops!

ForgeBox Business will be released this summer. These accounts are directed towards organizations and teams so they can collaborate and support their software building needs. It includes all the features of PRO plus the following features:

✓Unlimited collaborators

✓Unlimited organizations and teams

✓Organization role based security for members

✓Unlimited public/private packages under the organization slug

✓Team-based permissions (read, publish)

It updates to OpenAPI v3 and uses convention routes for samples and response body schema assist in auto-generating documentation and samples. Lastly, it enhances support for granular, route-based security.

cbCommerce (Coming Soon) - It is built with Enterprise e-Commerce in mind and it uses ContentBox modularity to allow non-technical users to manage inventory and pricing. Additionally, it has built-in support for shipping, sales tax/VAT, event and inventory lifecycle pricing and multiple payment processor support.

There are many more things coming and we can’t wait to share them with you all. In the meantime, please feel free to check our social media channels for any new announcements!

From Legacy Risk to Modern Agility: A Phased Modernization Roadmap for CFML Teams

Many organizations running CFML applications today face the same challenge.

Their systems still work.

They support core business processes.

They generate revenue.

But at the same time, those platforms are increasingly exposed to risk.

Unsupported runtimes, operational fragility, security exposure, and difficulty integrating with modern systems are becoming more common in environments still running older versions of Adobe ColdFusion or Lucee.

The quest...

Introducing the BoxLang Spring Boot Starter: Dynamic JVM Templating for Spring

Spring Boot developers know the pain of evaluating view technologies. Thymeleaf is great — until you need more expressiveness. FreeMarker is powerful — until the syntax fights you. What if you could write templates in a dynamic JVM language that gives you the full power of the platform, feels natural, and requires zero setup to integrate?

Meet the BoxLang Spring Boot Starter.
