Exciting News: Meet Raymond Camden, As a BoxLang Advocate!

We’re thrilled to announce that Raymond Camden, a leading voice in the CFML community, is joining us as a BoxLang Advocate Currently collaborating with us as a contractor, Raymond brings years of web development experience and a passion for simplifying complex technologies. His expertise makes him the perfect advocate to explore BoxLang, a modern, CFML-compatible programming language.

We’re excited to have him on board as we work to expand BoxLang’s impact in the community, with his feedback and help exploring and reviewing BoxLang we expect to enhance our users experience and create future-proof web Apps!


About Raymond Camden

Raymond Camden is a developer evangelistmarried father of eight, and passionate about making web development more accessible to developers of all levels. He lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, and spends much of his time writing, researching, and presenting. With over 6,600 blog posts and numerous conference speaking engagements under his belt, Raymond has become a well-known and trusted voice in the developer world.

When Raymond isn’t behind a computer, you’ll find him enjoying Xbox/PlayStation games, watching movies, and reading. He’s also a Star Wars nerd — but that’s a secret he’s not too keen on sharing publicly!

Raymond’s dedication to learning and sharing his knowledge has made him an invaluable resource to developers, particularly in the CFML ecosystem. His passion for technology and his ability to simplify complex topics has earned him invitations to speak at conferences worldwide, and now, he’s bringing that same energy and expertise to BoxLang.


Raymond's Journey with CFML and BoxLang

With years of experience in CFML and JavaScript, Raymond has always embraced exploring new technologies that enhance the developer experience. Although he hasn’t worked extensively with Java, he was immediately drawn to BoxLang because of its developer-friendly syntaxseamless JVM integration, and focus on simplicity and modern web development practices.

Currently, Raymond is diving into BoxLang and collaborating with us to streamline the experience for CFML developers looking to modernize their applications. As he explores the language, he’s committed to providing an honest, step-by-step review of his learning journey, offering insights into its ease of use and capabilities for us to keep improving and evolving the language o provide a great experience to users.
