There have been some reported issues with beta 3 for coldfusion 9 and object serialization when using the flash memory.  These have been resolved and are on SVN or the nightly build.  We have also solved several other pending issues on unix based system and addressed them not only on the core but on all the sample applications and on the coldbox dashboard.

Due to the amount of fixes and updates we have resolved, we will be releasing an updated beta 3 build this Friday.  So expect another mini-release this Friday to address these issues and also get some goodies.

Did you ever release this update? It doesn't seem to be in the published download (at least the build number is the same as the last released download.)

I was,

but I retracted. I am preparing a another milestone release by next week anyways, so I had to hold back on just re-releasing it.

Luis,

Thanks. I'm back to working on a complete re-write in ColdBox. I haven't actually run into any issues yet, so I hate to just keep merging in nightlies. I'd prefer to keep to milestones at this point, so I knew there was suppose to have been another release and just never saw it!

Thanks again. I'll be on the look out for the next milestone.

MatchBox and WebAssembly: Running BoxLang in the Browser and at the Edge

The MatchBox open beta is live at https://boxlang.ortusbooks.com/boxlang-framework/matchbox, and it brings something genuinely new to the BoxLang ecosystem: a path into WebAssembly.

That means BoxLang code can now move into browser applications, static-site deployments, edge runtimes, and WASI-style containers - without requiring a JVM. The feature is still beta, but the core direction is already useful: write BoxLang, compile it with MatchBox, and ship the generated WASM artifact to wherever a small portable runtime makes sense.

BoxLang 1.14.0 : BoxSet is Here: BoxLang's New First-Class Set Type

BoxLang 1.14.0 ships something that JVM developers have wanted for a long time: a true first-class Set type baked directly into the language. Not a wrapper you reach for manually, not a createObject( "java", "java.util.HashSet" ) incantation you paste from a Stack Overflow answer years ago. A real BoxSet with literal syntax, operator overloads, a full functional pipeline, change listeners, JSON serialization, and deep Java interop.
